Here’s to our selection of the top 10 mobile apps of 2014 – there’s even one from Kosovo!


The mobile industry is getting more quality work on a yearly basis and 2014 was a year to mention more things beyond the Angry Birds line of apps. So here’s to our selection of the top 10 mobile apps of 2014.

One of the most beautifully designed apps of 2014. Visually rich, clean, and elegant, delivering an experience on writing, talking, picture sharing, etc. It’s designed for every platform and works seamlessly on all of them. We love everything about Wire, which is available for download at the Google Play Store and App Store.

A stylish, easy to use and unique iOS app for financials. Over half a million people jumped on the waiting list for an invitation, and many of them learned the harsh truth after the launch that the app worked only in the U.S. However you can still use it to monitor stocks, and in the most stylish way ever. The app, available for download at the App Store, also features Zero-Fee Stock Trading.

Meet Elevate, Apple’s Pick For Best iPhone App Of The Year and available on Android. It has a stylish design and keeps the user engaged on a daily basis with games, puzzles, etc. Its purpose: improve three important areas of your brain, such as focus, memory, and speed.

Monument Valley

Apple’s Pick For Best iPhone Game Of The Year, this definitely deserves to be on the list. It is unique, features minimalistic yet amazing and beautiful design: When you see the screenshot button, you will understand why. It’s a game that engages the user to solve challenges and move the character forward from one level to another. The game also comes at a price of $3.99 for iOSAndroid, and Kindle Fire.

The on-demand alternative taxi service that is disrupting markets around the world made it to our list as well. It has a simple design and is easy to use and simple to navigate, with features like booking a cab, setting up a pickup location, viewing fares, rating drivers, etc. Downloads are available at the Google Play Store, App Store, and Windows Store.

Create amazing time lapse videos with Hyperlapse, which is only available for download at the App Store. Using Instagram’s in-house stabilization, Hyperlapse shoots polished time lapse videos that were previously impossible without bulky tripods and expensive equipment. Tons of users have downloaded the app on iOS and uploaded tons of crazy videos, while 2015 might surprise us with the launch of Hyperlapse for Android.

VSCO Cam, available for download at the App Store and Google Play Store, can let you snap, edit, and share your photos all in one place. You can even import your existing photos and access all your pictures in one place. If you’ve ever experienced a time when you want to focus on something but it’s just too dark so you have to tap somewhere else, this is exactly the kind of problem VSCO Cam solves. No longer do you have to settle for darker but in focus photos or over-exposed and out of focus photos. VSCO Cam’s filter and editing options are also some of the best you’ll find. And the community of VSCO Cam is just growing and you’ll see the hashtags on relevant social channels being used.

Bonus – Haluci

It was launched in December and features an accelerator based game-play and unique illustrations on character, levels, music, etc. Available on iOS and Android, Haluci makes it to our top 10 selection as a bonus app, especially because of the amount of work and results achieved by the development company Trigonom.
