Zimperium, an Israeli mobile information security startup, recently announced the closing of an $8M funding round. The current round was lead by VC firm Sierra Ventures.
Lock out hackers
Zimperium has been working under the radar on the development of its security solution for mobile users. The company has one secret project in the works that they’re not being too open about but their product portfolio up until this point has been impressive.
The company has developed solutions for IT administrators to monitor networks, as well as solutions for end users to monitor what kind of job IT people are doing on their networks and whether their networks are safe for mobile browsing.
More specifically, IT managers can use Zimperium tools to see which users are suspicious and subsequently block their access to the system. The end user app is called zAnti and allows users to detect weak points in networks that might be vulnerable to ‘man in the middle’ type attacks where third party hackers eavesdrop on conversations and steal critical or identity sensitive data that would allow them to wreak havoc on a users’ on/offline lives
The product is currently in closed beta according to its homepage and it would appear that Zimperium plans to release it’s super stealth product come January 23.
Alongside the possibility of enrolling, the Zimperium homepage presents a study of threats facing today’s digital environment written by founder and CEO Isaac Abraham.
From the research findings it can be concluded that the company’s goal is to change the current way of thinking when it comes to mobile security today so that solutions will not only protect organizations but will also protect the individual employrees of enterprise environments in the BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) culture.
Zimperium was founded in 2010 and plans to use the current funding to continue to develop their product which , as noted, is pending release, scheduled for the end of January.
