Israeli startup Covertix grabs the attention of one of the most influential IT ad magazines in the biz with their file-level data protection solution
Covertix, an Israeli startup and leading developer of file level data protection, announced today that the company’s SmartCipher Enterprise 3.0 has been named the Security Product of the Year By CRN magazine’s Test Center.
CRN magazine is one of the leading advertising mediums for the IT industry in the US and abroad. The publication’s Test Center editors selected SmartCipher Enterprise for the Security Product of the Year after conducting in-depth reviews of a wide range of security products judging prospects based on the degree of innovation and direct and immediate impact to businesses through its implementation.
SmartCipher offers enterprise organisations protection from advanced persistent threats, document rights management, secure email attachments and cloud-based file and folder security. A simple yet sophisticated rule set embedded in the file determines where, when and by whom materials can be viewed, printed, changed and shared regardless of the PC, cloud storage, mobile device or tablet.
Edward Correia, Managing Editor over at CRN, elaborated on the specific standout qualities of SmartCipher tha impressed the judges stating in his review of the product; “While most endpoint security solutions monitor email, web browsing and other end user activities and attempt to prevent movement of sensitive or protected data through those channels, Covertix focuses on file contents.”

Covertix was founded in 2007 by Alon Samia and Tzach Kaufmann. SO far they’ve managed to pick up $1M in funding from Israel’s Office of the CHief Scientist, Kima Ventures and Maayan Ventures. The company is based out of Kvar Sava, Israel.
