The Israeli gifting company’s technology will be integrated on Evite’s website allowing the 200 million annual Evite recipients to send gifts right from the platform
Israeli gifting company Jifiti just landed a big client that will put its product into the hands of millions of party attendees. The company on July 16 announced that it has partnered with Evite, the leading digital invitation and event planning service, to allow invitees to easily select and send gifts to hosts straight from the Evite platform.
“Birthdays are our most popular invitation category on Evite and gifting is a natural extension to the event space,” Ed Gross, vice president of business development at Evite, said in a statement. “Jifiti’s unique gifting platform will really enhance our party planning experience and we are thrilled to bring this innovative solution to our users.”
As easy as an RSVP
Jifiti’s “Gift It” technology provides event guests the ability to browse and select products from retailers like Sephora, Brookstone, Amazon, Banana Republic, Nike and Toys ‘R’ Us and instantly send in the form of a digital gift. The recipient can redeem the suggested gift online or in any of the retailer’s U.S. locations.
“Guests love going to parties, but sometimes running out to find a gift that the recipient will love can be a real challenge,” Shaul Weisband, Jifiti CMO and co-founder, said in the statement. “That’s where we come in; guests only need to know the recipient’s email in order to send their gift digitally. This method makes it a great, no-hassle solution for guests who are constantly on-the-go, or those who can’t make it to the event but still want to easily send a thoughtful gift.”
Party planners who want to receive gifts via Jifiti’s technology can plan and send invites on Evite, which sends more than 200 million invitations for more than seven million parties each year. That turns out to about 24,000 invitations sent every hour. Launched in 1998, Evite is a Los Angeles based subsidiary of Liberty Interactive Corp., which owns several companies in the video and digital commerce spaces.
Jifiti, is an Israeli startup founded in 2012 by Yaakov Martin, Meir Dudai and Shaul Weisband. To date it has raised $3.5 million in funding. Its patent pending gifting technology allows users to purchase products and send a digital card to recipients via email, SMS or social network so the recipient can pick up the gift with the gift card. The company said its technology avoids hassles of returns, and makes it easier to give thoughtful gifts.
